Ossi for Nokia Web Runtime

Here you can download the latest version of Ossi for S60 phones supporting Nokia Web Runtime technology. This preliminary version requires version 1.0 of WRT which comes onboard 5th edition handsets, or you can upgrade your "relatively new phone's" (we do not have a definitive list of supported phone models but relatively new E- and N-series phones should be fine, please check Nokia's pages) firmware.

Installation

Download the attached file and send it to your phone via bluetooth (or browse directly to the file with your phone's browser). Click the SMS message to install, and if you phone supports WRT then it should install fine and appear under applications directory.

Functionality

Current functionality is otherwise identical to regular Ossi, except that we have added WRT 1.1 specific API call to platform Location capability, so when user updates their status message using the widget, their location coordinates are saved to Common Services at the same time.

Please note that by default, if you phone has WRT 1.1, Ossi will automatically update your location to Aalto Social Interface once a minute. You can turn this off from Profile Settings inside the application.

Usage

To take advantage of any WRT related additional functionality, such as location capability, you have to agree / click yes on all the prompts that the phone pops up during application initialization. At bare miminum you have to agree to usage of network services, otherwise Ossi simply will not work.
